Develop comprehensive best practices and guidelines for organising IT, Research Data Management (RDM), and Research Office (RO) collaborations to effectively address emerging researcher requirements.
This initiative resulted in the Research Support Maturity Assessment model.
Develop proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives for national RDM infrastructure, aligning with actions outlined by the National Open Research Forum (NORF).

Priority 2 initiatives
- Create strategies for engaging with researchers to capture their needs, emphasising the importance of researcher input in shaping support services.
- Explore Research Project Management (PM) strategies.
- Compile a list of national repositories to facilitate access to research outputs.
- Develop strategies for making research data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR), considering a discipline-specific approach.
- Collaborate on technical initiatives such as IPv6 implementation and automation.
- Explore training opportunities, potentially leveraging collaborations with other groups.
- Establish testbeds for experimenting with new technologies and methodologies.
- Develop policies and funding frameworks for Research IT, RDM, and Repository Operations (RO).
- Unify voices when engaging with funders regarding Research Infrastructure (RI) and RDM initiatives, ensuring alignment with NORF and the Irish Universities Association (IUA).
- Identify and collaborate with other active groups to ensure coordination and avoid duplication of efforts, conducting a mapping exercise to determine areas of collaboration and overlap.
